Festival History

The Reno Ukulele Festival was founded by Douglas Reynolds in 2009 and it quickly became one of the largest uke fests in the country. The festival originally took place each Spring.

Covid canceled the 2020 festival, but Doug returned and produced the 2021 festival, delaying it to Autumn in an effort to give the medical community extra time to make the world a safer place.

After 2021, Doug handed the festival off to the current producers, Dani Joy and Perry Stauffer. It’s home at the Nugget Casino Resort kept it as an Autumn event on their calendar.

Doug continues to be involved in the role of a consultant and he, Dani Joy, and Perry are in discussion to reboot the Palm Springs Uke Fest that Doug also produced from 2015-2019.
